The brand
Built for the dash. Cut to wear after.
HUDDYS is a small American eyewear brand making non-polarized sunglasses for drivers of HUD-equipped cars. We started because polarized sunglasses break head-up displays, and nobody was building for the millions of drivers in newer vehicles whose existing pairs didn't work the way they should.
The Saturday that started this
I drove a friend's new car for the first time and saw a heads-up display project the speed and exit info onto the windshield in front of me. Best feature I'd ever experienced in a car. I knew that same afternoon I'd never go back.
Then I put on my polarized Ray-Bans and the HUD vanished. A rainbow ghost where the speed used to be. I almost missed an exit.
I assumed someone made non-polarized driving sunglasses worth wearing. They didn't. Plenty of tactical and sport pairs sell non-polarized as an afterthought, but nothing was designed for the way drivers actually live — drive, then do, drive, then do, all day, one pair.
HUDDYS exists for the millions of drivers in the same spot. Modern car. Real HUD. Reasonable taste. Better sunglasses.

What every pair has to be
Five non-negotiables we hold every Edition pair to. These came out of a year of testing samples from suppliers across China, Italy, and Japan, and learning what separates eyewear that lasts from eyewear that doesn't.
Every lens, every SKU, every edition. We don't make a polarized version. We don't offer it as an upgrade. The brand exists because polarized was the wrong default for a HUD-driving world.
Same UV blocking as premium polarized. Polarization and UV are unrelated — being non-polarized changes nothing about eye protection. UV400 is the standard for daily-wear sunglasses and what optometrists recommend.
Hard coat for scratch resistance, back-surface AR to kill reflections, hydrophobic / oleophobic to repel water and fingerprints. Standard on every pair. The cheap brands skip the AR stack — we don't.
Metal hinges, machine-set, on every pair. Plastic snap-fit hinges fail in the first six months of real wear. Ours don't.
Light enough for an 8-hour day, structured enough to hold shape on the dash. Each silhouette is named for the moment in the day it was designed to slot into — drive, do, drive, do, all day, one pair.
How we make them
Edition 01 is manufactured in collaboration with Conchen Sunglasses Company in Wenzhou, China — a factory that produces eyewear for established global brands. We chose Conchen after a multi-vendor sample evaluation because their non-polarized PC lenses passed our coating-durability test, their hinge construction passed our drop test, and their factory video showed an organized production floor we'd happily put our name on.
We're a small team. The brand was founded in Utah, the website was built in-house, and every customer email goes to the founder. If you have a question that doesn't fit a help page, write to hello@huddyseyewear.com — you'll hear back, and not from a chatbot.
What's next
Edition 01 ships with seven silhouettes and seventeen colorways across metal, PC, and rimless metal. After this run, the next priorities are prescription support (2027), a women's-led second edition, and additional HUD-specific tints (driving-yellow for low-contrast conditions, smoke-grey for daytime brightness).
