General

What is HUDDYS?

HUDDYS is a small American eyewear brand that makes non-polarized sunglasses designed for drivers of vehicles with head-up displays (HUDs). Every pair is UV400, made in collaboration with a Chinese manufacturer that produces eyewear for established global brands, and priced to make luxury-grade lenses accessible.

Why non-polarized?

Polarized lenses block the polarized light that head-up displays project onto your windshield. The result: rainbow ghosting, color washout, or the HUD vanishing entirely when you tilt your head. We built HUDDYS specifically for the millions of drivers in HUD-equipped vehicles whose existing sunglasses don't work the way they should. Read the full HUD compatibility guide.

Is HUDDYS only for drivers?

The brand premise is HUD-friendly driving sunglasses, but the lineup is designed to be worn all day — beach, golf, office walks, dinner. We named each SKU after a moment in the day so you'd see it for what it is: one pair, all day, every drive in between.

Are HUDDYS prescription-ready?

Not at launch. Edition 01 ships as plano (non-prescription) only. Prescription is on the roadmap for 2027. If you need Rx now, take the frame to your local optician — most can re-cut PC UV400 lenses to your prescription, but it'll void our warranty on the lens.

Product

How do I know my polarized sunglasses don't work with my car's HUD?

Tilt your head 30 degrees left or right while wearing your sunglasses in the driver's seat. If the speed or navigation image dims, color-shifts to a rainbow, or vanishes entirely — your lenses are polarized and they're fighting your HUD. Full test in the HUD compatibility guide.

What lens material do you use?

Polycarbonate (PC), UV400, base-6 curvature on most styles. PC is lighter than glass, more impact-resistant than CR-39, and the standard for premium driving eyewear.

What coatings do the lenses have?

Hard coat for scratch resistance, back-surface AR (anti-reflective) to kill reflections from behind the lens, and hydrophobic / oleophobic coating to repel water and fingerprints. All standard on every Edition 01 pair.

What are the frames made of?

Three SKUs are PC frames (Trailhead, Tee Box, Poolside) — light, durable, no break. Three are metal frames (Morning Drive, Out the Back, Track Day) — premium feel, classic silhouettes. One is rimless metal (Reservation, On Time) — minimal frame, statement lens. All metal hinges, no spring hinges in this edition.

Do they have a UV rating?

Yes — UV400, which blocks 100% of UVA and UVB up to 400 nanometers. That's the standard for premium sunglasses, and what optometrists recommend for daily wear. Polarization is unrelated to UV protection — being non-polarized doesn't change UV performance.

Fit & sizing

How do I know which silhouette fits my face?

The short version: angular faces look great in rounder silhouettes (Out the Back, Poolside), softer faces work better in sharper silhouettes (Morning Drive, Tee Box, Reservation). The full version is in our Frame Fit Guide with face-shape primers and per-SKU sizing.

What if they don't fit?

You have 30 days to return them for a full refund (you cover the return shipping). If you're between sizes or unsure, message us before ordering — we're happy to advise. Returns policy.

Will the temple length work for my head?

Most adult heads fit in the 138-150mm temple range, which covers all Edition 01 SKUs. Specific lengths are listed on each product page. If you wear Ray-Ban Aviator Classic comfortably, you'll fit in our Morning Drive (63-20-150) and Reservation (57-18-135) without issue.

Pre-orders

When does Edition 01 ship?

Pre-orders are charged at the time of order and ship when production is complete — currently expected June 2026. The expected ship window is shown on each product page and updates weekly. We email every pre-order customer when their order is being packed.

Can I cancel a pre-order?

Yes — cancel any time before your order ships for a full refund. Email us with your order number and we process the refund within 1-2 business days.

What's the first-fifty discount?

The first fifty pre-order customers get a $20 discount code via email when pre-orders open. Sign up to the launch list to be one of them.

The 50 United States, Washington D.C., and US military APO/FPO/DPO addresses at launch. Canada and select international markets in 2027. Full shipping policy.

How long does shipping take?

Standard (3-5 business days): $6 flat, free over $75. Expedited (2 business days): $14. Overnight (1 business day): $28. Pre-orders ship when the production run is complete, then follow these timelines.

Will I get a tracking number?

Yes — within a few hours of dispatch. Check spam if it doesn't arrive in 24 hours.

Returns & warranty

What's your return policy?

30 days from delivery, unworn condition with original case and accessories, customer covers return shipping. Email hello@huddyseyewear.com with your order number to start a return. Full returns policy.

Do you offer warranty?

Every pair has a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects starting from the delivery date. Lens scratches, impact damage, and normal wear-and-tear are not covered. Email us with photos to start a warranty claim.

What if my pair arrives damaged?

Email us with photos within 7 days of delivery. We replace damaged-on-arrival pairs at no cost to you, including return shipping.

Care

How should I clean the lenses?

Use the included microfiber cloth on dry lenses. For smudges, run the lenses under cool water briefly, then dry with the microfiber. Avoid paper towels, T-shirts, and household glass cleaners — they can scratch the AR coating over time.

Can I leave them in a hot car?

Try not to. Sustained high heat (above 150°F / 65°C) can warp PC frames and damage the lens coatings. The case is fine inside the cabin, but on the dash in summer sun is risky.

How do I store them when I'm not wearing them?

In the case, every time. The case is included with every order. Tossing them lens-down in a console or bag is the fastest way to scratch the AR coating.
